The Bismarck-Mandan Strip, more commonly known as simply “The Strip”, is a section of Memorial Highway (Old U.S. 10) that runs from Mandan’s Main Avenue to the Liberty Memorial Bridge.
The stretch of road originally gained prominence as part of U.S. Highway 10; however, the opening of Interstate 94 in 1965 shifted major traffic to the north, affecting many businesses on The Strip at the time. Today, the street is home mainly to manufacturing and warehouse businesses. It is also well known for its large concentration of car, boat, camper, and motorcycle dealerships. Midway Lanes is also located on The Strip, along with a recently opened McDonalds, Kroll’s Diner, a bank, motels, and a few local retailers.
Despite sometimes being referred as “between Bismarck and Mandan”, the entire stretch of road is within Mandan city limits.
