Cash Wise Foods opened in 1982.
Cash Wise Foods is a regional grocery chain, owned by Saint Cloud, Minnesota-based Coborn’s. The Bismarck location opened on June 30, 1982, and just recently completed a minor facelift and expansion, which included the installation of their Little Dukes Convenience Store and gas station concept.
The store reportedly operated under the names Holiday Foods and Superfair Foods prior to Cash Wise; however I have not been able to confirm the details of this.
Cash Wise is noted for providing limited service in exchange for what they claim are the lowest prices in town. Upon checking out, shoppers must take their purchased items to a bagging station near the checkouts.
Cash Wise is also the only remaining grocery store in Bismarck to feature a video rental store.
