East 40 Chophouse & Tavern

East 40 Chophouse & Tavern (formerly Caspar’s East 40 Steakhouse) is an upscale bar and restaurant that features a decor consistent of that around the 1920s-1940s, featuring a large collection of antiques.

East 40 was opened in 1973 by Ed and Joan Conlin, of the long-time regional retailer Conlin’s Furniture. In 1979, Caspar and Matina Borggreve purchased the restaurant, and continued to add antiques to the decor.

East 40 features a similar atmosphere and menu as Peacock Alley inside the historic Patterson Hotel.
